Composition:

Each ml solution contains: 100 mg flumequine.

 

Spectrum of activity:

Flumequine is a quinolone derivative, with bactericidal action against particularly Gram-negative bacteria (e.g. Klebsiella spp., E coli, Enterobacter cloacae, Serratia, Proteus spp., Salmonella spp., Neisseria meningitides, Pasteurella multocida, Campylobacter spp. and Shigella spp.).

Intestinal absorption is quick and complete (90%).

 

Indications:

Infections caused by micro-organisms susceptible to flumequine. E.g. treatment of colibacillosis (e. coli infections), pasteurellosis (Cholera) and salmonellosis in calves and poultry.

 

Contra-indications:

Hypersensitivity to flumequine, serious liver- or renal insufficiency, birds producing eggs for human food.

 

Side effects:

Hypersensitivity to flumequine may occur.

 

Dosage and administration:

Orally, via drinking water or milk.

Poultry: The general dose is 10 mg/kg b.w. daily, during 3-5 consecutive days. This is achieved by adding 0.7 –1.0 litre per 1000 litres of drinking water.

Calves: The general dose is 10 mg/kg b.w. twice daily, during 3-5 consecutive days. This is achieved by administration of 10 ml per 100 kg bodyweight, twice a day.

Medicated drinking water should be used within 24 hours.

 

Withdrawal time:

For meat: 2 days.

 

Storage:

Store closed in a cool place, protected from light.

2 years.
