Composition:

Each aerosol dispenser of 200 ml contains:                

5.0 g Oxytetracycline HCL

0.7 g Gentian violet

 

Spectrum of activity:

Oxytetracycline is a broad spectrum antibiotic, with bacteriostatic action against

a large number of Gram-positive and Gram-negative organisms, (like streptococci, staphylococci, Pasteurella spp., Brucella spp., Corynebacteria

spp., Actinobacillus spp., Eperythrozoon spp., Bordetella spp., Ehrlichia spp., coliforms, Salmonella spp.) and spirochetes, mycoplasmas, Rickettsiae spp., Chlamydia spp. and some protozoa. Activity against Pseudomonas-, Proteus-

and Klebsiella spp. is low.

Gentian violet (methylrosanilin chloride) is active against fungoid organisms and marks the sprayed zone.

 

Indications:

Topical treatment of infections caused by micro-organisms susceptible to oxytetracycline, especially wound infections, dermatitis, traumatic (teat, udder) or surgical wounds (castration, dehorning), or foot rot.

 

Contra-indications:

Hypersensitivity to tetracyclines.

 

Dosage and administration:

External application. Avoid every contact with eyes.

Shake well before use.

All animals: Spray during1 a 2 seconds, twice daily (on a 15-20 cm distance).

 

Withdrawal time:

For meat: 3 days.

For milk: no discard time.

 

Storage:              

Pressurized container: protect from sunlight and do not expose to temperatures exceeding 50 °C.

Do not pierce or burn, even after use. Do not spray on a naked flame or any incandescent material.

 

Shelf life: 

2 years.
